PURPOSE

APM terminals operates one of the most comprehensive container port networks globally and we are expanding. the network through new investment, expansion and M&A activities. To safely execute this growth we are looking for a Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Business Partner to join our Project Execution (PE) team.As the Senior HSE Business Partner you will have the opportunity to guide, update and (re)define how projects are delivered, build on and further mature the HSE culture, and be part of APM Terminals delivering its Safer, Better, Bigger strategy.

Functional Leadership

• Role-model, drive, and embed the HSE culture within the PE team
• Define the HSE operating system for PE and embed HSE into the function’s Ways of Working
• Promote and spotlight continuous improvement, learning from the frontline, and embedding of lessons learned, through the application of Lean tools (e.g. Gemba, Kaizen etc.)

Project Execution

• Assure HSSE processes are embedded and effective throughout the project lifecycle
• Execute regular HSSE assurance reviews on site as part of the PE Execution Review
• Define the HSSE technical criteria and participates in contractor HSSE tender evaluations, selection and monitoring program. This may include reviewing Tier 1 contractor HSSE construction phase plans, management plans, and risk registers
• Collate and interpret HSSE performance data from projects, identifying trends, items for escalation, and opportunities for improvement
• Act as the functional HQ contact for the Tier 1 contractor and PMC Heads of HSSE

HSSE Framework-Projects

• Further develop and implement an HSE Roadmap (framework) for the delivery of capital projects in APM Terminals and embed within the PE Integration Framework and project control processes already in place
• Adopt and consistently apply the APMM HSSE Management framework and Operating System, control effectiveness tools and safety differently concepts into Project Execution Ways of Working
• Participate in the annual review of Global Asset Engineering design standard (Standard Employer Requirements (SERs) to embed learning from projects

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Health, Safety, Security or Environmental discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Professional qualifications and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma)
• 10+ years’ experience in HSSE at a senior level with civil infrastructure projects including design, construction and commissions. Exposure to projects with automation scope desirable

• Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects and scopes of work, working in teams and independently, and via a hybrid working approach
• Excellent facilitation and interfacing skills across multiple functions in a large organisation
