Revenue Management at APMT

The Revenue Management team is responsible for the pricing, contracting and continuous revenue and margin optimization of APMT’s global topline. The team consists of several global roles based out of the The Hague global headquarters, as well as regional roles in North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa & Middle East and Asia, and a global support team in India.

Apart from looking after APMT’s topline on a day-to-day basis, the Revenue Management function will undergo an exciting transformation in the coming years, with several strategic initiatives to improve its foundation (data, technology, processes, governance) kicked off recently, all aimed at delivering sustainable revenue and margin improvements from new, innovative and more systemized ways of pricing and capacity management.

About Your Role

We are currently looking for a Pricing & Contracting Manager to join the team in The Hague. In this position you will play key role in optimizing APMT’s topline.

  • You do so by having a deep understanding of the markets and terminals under your scope, including but not limited to demand, supply, trade drivers, customers, existing and new competition and their strengths and weaknesses, local regulation, etc.

  • You have a comprehensive understanding of the customer contracts in the terminals under your scope, including but not limited to price points, volume commitments and service level agreements.

  • You are a critical member of the cross-functional ‘deal teams’ we form whenever we renegotiate our largest customer contracts. As a member of the deal team, you contribute by providing market, competition, and revenue insights and by driving the pricing agenda, thereby ensuring we maximize the commercial value of each deal.

  • As part of the deal making process, you will help draft formal agreements, service level agreements and rate sheets, and you work closely with the legal team to ensure these proposals and agreements are appropriately covered by formal contracts.

  • Once an agreement is concluded, you consistently monitor actual performance delivery against contractual agreements, and combine your in-depth knowledge of markets and contracts with other internal and external data and insights to continuously seek for new opportunities and creative ways to improve revenue and margins.

  • Finally, you will actively contribute to the various global improvement and transformation initiatives that will reshape the way APMT monetizes its services in the future.

About You

  • You have 7+ years of relevant commercial experience in sales, pricing, contracting and revenue/yield management, experience in leading a team and achieving results through others is an advantage.

  • You have a master’s or bachelor’s degree or otherwise demonstrable proficiency in business administration, marketing, logistics or similar.

  • You understand terminals, transport and logistics value drivers and the ways in which value is monetized, including challenges and future opportunities therein.

  • You have a strong set of analytical skills, and you are comfortable making complex and ambiguous situations simple by extracting the relevant information from such situations and turn them into compelling commercial storylines.

  • You have a creative commercial mind, but you can balance your creativity in finding new opportunities, new ideas and new ways of doing things, with the structure and eye for detail that is necessary for successful execution of plans, delivery of results and global scalability.

  • You have an engaging, clear, and persuasive communication style but actively take stakeholders’ inputs and views on board, thereby maintaining and open-minded and inclusive approach.

  • You have a strong commercial and customer mindset, but always try to strike the right balance between customer and APMT interests as at the end of the day, pricing must reflect value.

  • You are comfortable in a high-pressure and high-performance environment, you persist in what you do, and adapt to new situations and challenges quickly.

Does above sound like you? Then please apply by submitting your resume and motivation, and we look forward to speaking to you soon!
