The IFS CMMS Product Owner serves as the voice of the business translating business needs and advising on the best solution to meet the business requirement, knowing the base functionality and capability of IFS itself, ensuring delivery of high-quality and appropriateness of IFS product solutioning to drive standardised process efficiency, optimisation, and compliance.
The IFS CMMS Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and ensuring prioritised delivery (through indirect influence) of key features and functionality of the IFS system. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including tech development, primarily with an Asset Management (CMMS, Warehousing and Inventory) focus, enabling the AM transformation benefit case, mindful of finance, and procurement success dependencies, to ensure that the IFS system meets the organization’s needs and drives business success, primarily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision & Strategy:
    • Responsible for identifying the holistic value proposition from Asset Management along with relevant functions.
    • Translate, develop and communicate the IFS product vision and roadmap aligned from Asset Management business objectives.
    • Understand market trends, product capabilities, business needs, and requirements to drive the strategic direction of the IFS CMMS product.
    • Align with Tech Business Partner regarding the IFS CMMS Product Roadmap, ERP strategy, new releases and upgrades.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, define suitable configuration solutions, while adhering to standards and best practices, ensuring data integrity and futureproofing of solutions, prioritize features, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for internal customers and as key contact with external vendors related to the IFS system.
    • Manage expectations of stakeholders and users based on the technical feasibility of the product.
  • Backlog Management:
    • Work with Functional Product Owners (FPOs) and Business Product Owners (BPOs) to create, manage, and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, stakeholder input, and technical feasibility (based on IFS product capabilities).
    • Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and validate Business Requirement Document (BRD) technical specifications.
  • Agile Product Development:
    • Work closely with development teams in an Agile environment to deliver features (incl. configuration settings) in sprints.
    • Be product representative in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
    • Ensure the development team understands the requirements and business value of features.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing:
    • Define and oversee the acceptance testing process to ensure that the delivered product meets the specified requirements.
    • Work with the tech development team to develop test plans and participate in testing activities.
    • Assess the complexity of features and conduct risk analysis. This analysis will guide the prioritization of testing efforts and allocation of resources, thereby maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the testing process across different environments.
  • Upgrade Support:
    • Coordinate with implementation teams to ensure smooth deployment of IFS features.
    • Provide post-implementation support and training to end-users as needed.
  • Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement:
    • Together with tech, monitor the performance and usage of the IFS system and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
    • Identify and highlight areas for process improvement and optimize the IFS product to enhance user experience and business value.
    • Ensure a proactive approach for smooth transition and maintaining system integrity following major updates or implementations. During this period, increase monitoring and support to swiftly address any issues and stabilize the system.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • MBA or Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, and project management.
    • Specific experience in product knowledge and ownership with IFS.
    • Understanding of Asset Management processes and experiences in heavy asset industries.
    • Background and experiences in LEAN methodology is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Have a strong service-oriented mindset and stakeholder-management-required environment approach.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with database management and software development processes.
  • Certifications:
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certifications are preferred.
    • ERP-related certifications (e.g., IFS Certified) are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require occasional travel to different office locations.
  • Hybrid work environment with a combination of remote and in-office work.
