Key Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to support the regional payroll organization, working with a matrixed group of stakeholders and vendors to ensure great employee experience and regulatory compliance from a payroll delivery perspective
Key responsibilities:
- Lead Payroll projects within the cluster and region (where required) to time, cost and quality in line with the overall project plan that you will create, own and deliver against (starting with implementation of Time and Attendance solutions that are in line with EU Working Time Directive)
- Manage and develop the project framework including governance, meeting structure, meeting outputs, plans, RACI, RAID
- Lead, direct, support, coach and guide the NEC payroll team to a successful project delivery.
- Act as part of the Dutch & German payroll team and support them with actual payroll processing when required.
- Lead and run regular project meetings with project team and key stakeholders in line with the project governance framework.
- Escalate key project risks and issues to ensure stakeholder awareness and engagement. Provide suitable mitigations and manage accordingly.
- Drive the change and engagement agenda with the regional payroll teams.
- Manage the payroll delivery to exacting global standards and business specific needs.
- Monitor performance metrics and identify patterns. In case of underperformance, help fix the issue working with the respective payroll specialist.
- Support the NEC Payroll Managers with any other relevant managerial tasks.
Who we are looking for:
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a partnering mindset. Someone with effective stakeholder management skills who is able to build trusted relationships and connect with stakeholders across the organization.
You’ll already have experience from working as a Payroll Manager and acting as an advisor towards colleagues. The role will cover for the NEC cluster.
Finally, you’ll be a self-starter and able to manage the regular deliverables of your role with ad hoc requests. You’ll know how to identify where to invest more time for the better outcome – without requiring step by step guidance.
You are highly driven, enjoy working at a fast pace, dealing with change and a touch of uncertainty. To manage complexity, you employ a structured approach and have strong focus on driving consistency and alignment. As for the skillset and experience, we are looking for:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing a team of payroll specialists preferably in an international organization
- Deep understanding on legal payroll requirements and personnel administration processes in the region
- Actively discuss and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Be a natural leader and passionate about driving team engagement and change
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and a natural trustworthy presence towards business leaders and stakeholders
- External Vendor management skills and ability to govern payroll processes by metrics
- A process and continuous improvement mindset who takes pride in delivering high quality and efficient Payroll services
- Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork to achieve results
- Customer-centric putting employee experience at the center
- Workday experience is preferred
- Fluency in English
- Low tolerance for delays and deviations.
