For our Team in Hamburg we are looking for a Direct Transport Sales is a newly created commercial channel, that focuses on exploring and targeting the sweet spot between our clients’ needs and our asset utilization across our wide range of logistics services such as OCEAN, INLAND, AIR and LCL.
We work in the most agile and dynamic part of the logistics markets, with short sales cycles and high intensity.

Key Responsibilities
- Selling our standard Transported by Maersk products, such as AIR, LCL, INLAND, CUSTOMS and OCEAN
- Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Identifying and researching potential customers.
- Generating leads through various channels such as cold calling, networking, and online research.
- Customer Engagement
- Building and maintaining relationship with existing and potential customers.
- Explore and grow a dynamic an agile client portfolio to enable offering the full range of our Transported by Maersk products.
- In collaboration with Customer Experience, ensuring awareness and high utilization of our whole array of E-Commerce tools and platforms to create the most efficient and effective customer engagement.
- Internally manage the selling process via our CRM systems (Salesforce.com), including sales pipeline, opportunity management, contract negotiations and filing, and account planning.
- Proactive contract management: renewal of rates, space allocations management, and maintaining side terms (T&C) as well as credit agreements.
- Consult customers on business relevant market developments and changes and proactively collect market intel for feedback to various internal stakeholders.
- Be the voice of customers, actively engaging internal stakeholders (customer experience, operations, finance, and our management team) to resolve any issues and increase customer satisfaction.
- Negotiation and Closing:
- Negotiating terms and conditions to close sales deals.
- Closing deals by obtaining customer commitment and signatures.
Who we are looking for.
- The ideal candidate is a team player, who thrives in an agile and ever-changing environment and possesses strong communication skills, both in Face-to-face meetings, via telephone and in writing.
- You are a self-starter, able to take ownership, and is willing to go the extra mile for the team and the customers, as basis to build long term relationships and to win together.
- You have a sense of urgency while remaining accurate in stressful situations and proactively thinking about solutions, which can be via out of the box methods.
- You have a high affinity to online way of working, CRM systems, and handling multi stakeholder processes in global scale, and international corporations.
- It is preferable that you have a good understanding of the European export/import market, shipping industry and logistics processes with an educational background in Shipping, Logistics, Economics or Marketing.
- You are fluent in German and English, both verbally and written, have good presentation and Microsoft Office skills (Well-versed in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), good understanding and ability to easily learn and work with live online systems (Salesforce.com experience a plus).
- Lastly, the person we are looking for should have more than 3 years of working experience in relevant industries.
