Primary responsibilities

Driving cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement

  • Primary focal, by delegation of the department manager, to represent LCL Operations towards other functions (Sales, Product, Finance), customers and suppliers (carrier, co-loaders, warehouse, truckers).
  • Implement new business wins - with LCL Operations Associate assigned by the department manager.
  • Mandate to agree on new or changed ways of operating while being a gatekeeper of not exceeding current capabilities to manage orders and execute effectively.

Lifting overall team performance

  • Decision making at her level regarding day-to-day operations and performance; and make the right calls for the team.
  • Guide LCL Benelux team through clearly defined targets balancing quality, cost, and consistency.
  • Supporting with order handling and execution in exceptional cases of resource constraints (peak vacation periods, unplanned leaves etc.)
  • Support / back-up the department manager with delegation of authorities to manage file exceptions, i.e. Hard close / re-open, approve credit notes, review / approve loss-making files.

Continuous improvement within the team

  • Assigned as lead by the department manager on specific initiatives or task forces to improve ways of working or resolve recurring issues.
  • Being a Maersk CW1 super user; conducting training as part of onboarding or refresher, engage in global super user community.

Critical competencies

  • Extensive LCL Operations experience managing assigned customers with applied company processes and systems (CW1)
  • Basic process improvement & project management skills
  • Able to work, make decisions and provide clear direction as a self-starter and effective change agent
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent understanding of customer requirements and customer focus
  • Highly structured and analytical
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Result driven combined with the ability to achieve results through people

  • Specific KPIs by delegation of the department manager
  • Setting up new business processes and customer solutions for effective handling within the team
  • New employee and refresher training on standard processes and systems

  • Responsibilities assigned to each member of the Operations team
  • Incoming transformation activities; implementing new ways or working and systems

  • Team KPIs in order management and execution
  • New customer volume, revenue and GP contribution
  • Customer satisfactions (NPS)
  • Team capability progression – based on skills matrix
