Are you experienced in procuring materials, equipment, and maintenance supplies for organisational operations? Can you find and purchase materials at the lowest cost that meet project requirements?

We are looking for multiple Buyers, both Junior and Senior, to procure materials, equipment, and services to meet project requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.

Tasks & responsibilities:

Junior Buyer:

  • Assist in preparing and monitoring man-hour budgets, planning, quality standards, and progress reports for procurement activities.
  • Support the establishment of project procurement requirements.
  • Contribute to preparing procurement plans based on procedures, practices, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Assist in directing and guiding project team members.
  • Act as a focal point on procurement-related matters between sellers, subcontractors, and clients under supervision.
  • Help incorporate and raise awareness regarding Quality Management Systems and HSE procedures in daily work.
  • Identify deficiencies and make proposals for improvements in the Quality Management System and HSE procedures.
  • Maintain basic knowledge of local and international sellers, subcontractors market, finance aspects, letters of credit and transport documents.

Senior Buyer:

  • Prepare and monitor man-hour budgets, planning, quality standards, and progress reports for all procurement activities.
  • Establish the project procurement requirements independently.
  • Prepare detailed procurement plans based on procedures, practices, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Direct and guide project team members, and coach Junior Buyers on all project-related procurement matters.
  • Safeguard the company's and client's interests during the project.
  • Serve as the main focal point on all procurement-related matters between sellers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Incorporate and raise awareness regarding Quality Management Systems and HSE procedures in daily work.
  • Identify deficiencies and make proposals for improvements in the Quality Management System and HSE procedures.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge regarding local and international sellers, subcontractors market, finance aspects, letters of credit, transport documents, and more.

Requirements Buyers/Estimators (Juniors/Seniors)

Junior Buyer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field.
    • Engineering, Economics, or other relevant disciplines may also be considered, especially if complemented with relevant experience or certifications.
  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing and subcontracting, preferably within the oil and gas or offshore wind industry.
  • Basic understanding of process equipment-related fields.
  • Familiarity with contracting capital-intensive projects is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of commissioning and start-up services.
  • Good command of English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to acquire a valid VCA or VCA-VOL certificate.
  • Competences: communicative, cooperative, result- and customer-oriented, trustworthy, flexible, tidy, accurate, professional knowledge, and training ability.

Senior Buyer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's in Supply Chain Management is advantageous! n
    • Engineering, Economics, or related areas may also be suitable if backed by relevant experience and/or certifications.
  • 5-10 years of experience in purchasing and subcontracting for a supplier within the oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive experience in process equipment-related fields, such as the oil and gas and offshore wind industry.
  • Proven experience with contracting capital-intensive projects.
  • Experience with commissioning and start-up services.
  • Excellent command of English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
  • In possession of a valid VCA or VCA-VOL certificate or willingness to acquire one.
  • Competences: communicative, cooperative, result- and customer-oriented, trustworthy, flexible, tidy, accurate, professional knowledge, patient, training ability, leadership skills, ability to build relationships, and commercially driven.
