We are looking for a Safety Loss Prevention Engineer to ensure that safety and loss prevention systems are designed, analysed, and implemented to minimise risks and hazards in offshore oil and gas facilities, aligning with industry standards and regulations.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver safety and loss prevention studies and documentation, ensuring technical accuracy and schedule adherence.
- Prepare various safety deliverables, including:
- Safety concept and basis of design.
- Fire protection basis of design.
- Hazardous area classification schedules and layouts.
- Escape route drawings and loose firefighting equipment plans.
- Hydraulic firewater calculations.
- Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and Fire & Explosion Risk Analysis (FERA).
- Escape, Evacuation, and Rescue Analyses (EERA).
- Smoke, toxic gas, and hydrocarbon gas dispersion analyses.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in hazard management by reducing fire and explosion risks.
- Support the creation and review of safety engineering documents to ensure compliance with standards.
- Develop and manage risk assessments to ensure designs meet ALARP principles.
- Specify loss prevention requirements for products and systems.
- Design fire and gas detection systems, firefighting equipment, and safety systems for FPSO and/or turret installations.
- Perform detailed designs of loss prevention systems, including equipment specifications, firefighting P&IDs, cause and effect diagrams, hazardous area zoning layouts, and safety plans.
- Use analytical tools and software (e.g., PHAST) for safety and risk calculations.
- Participate in safety reviews, including HAZOP, design reviews, and other assessments.
- Monitor and review internal documents, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Respond to queries from clients, contractors, and internal departments regarding hazard management.
- Provide formal responses to client and classification society comments on safety documents.
- Contribute to internal and project-specific meetings related to safety systems and equipment.
- Evaluate environmental requirements and ensure alignment in the design phase.
- Review and apply Human Factors Engineering principles in system design.
Requirements Safety Loss Prevention Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Engineering, Fire Risk Engineering, Safety, Risk and Reliability Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in safety and loss prevention engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in safety engineering concepts and the design of hazard management systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes for offshore installations.
- Knowledge of tools and software for safety and risk assessments (e.g., PHAST).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Accountability and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Adaptability to changing project needs and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
