Job Description
For our office in Gorinchem, we are looking for an enthusiastic, communicative, and experienced Yard Account Manager (40 hours per week). The Yard Account Manager is responsible for a team of approximately 5 Project Managers and acts as the team leader for the Project Managers. You will be the primary point of contact in Gorinchem for matters related to Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam, maintaining close contact with the shipyard.
Additionally, you will be co-responsible for portfolio management and implementation from Gorinchem, with a strong drive for continuous improvement. You are the person in the organization who identifies improvements, prioritizes them effectively, and ensures their implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, organize, and guide improvements in a structured manner across all areas of the organization.
- Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement within the teams in the Netherlands and Vietnam.
- Maintain short communication lines within all departments, especially with the manager of project managers in DSCS.
- Collect, address, and follow up on (technical) portfolio improvements and issues.
- Optimize, streamline, and implement work processes between the different departments in both Gorinchem and Vietnam.
- Shape improvement projects within a multidisciplinary team to transfer work from Gorinchem to Vietnam in a controlled manner.
- Identify new projects and required tasks early, guide them to the Project Managers within your team, and manage external resources.
- Represent the shipyard in Sales & Operations meetings.
- Team management; oversee capacity planning, monitor the progress of all projects at DSCS, and organize personal development within your team.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, supplemented with relevant courses such as procurement, work preparation, project/supply chain management, or similar.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a similar role, preferably with a technical background in the maritime sector.
- Result-oriented leader with initiative and management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, social and communication skills, team player.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding, Maritime Technology, or Electrical and Automation Engineering.
- Proven experience in project management within a multidisciplinary team.
- Team player capable of creating an overview, setting priorities, and managing stakeholders.
- Socially skilled, motivates the team to go the extra mile.
- Result-oriented with a keen eye for organizational sensitivity.
- Communicative at all levels, from production to executive level.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
