Postdoc Choice Modeling and Operations Research for EV Charging Behavior
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)
Drive the transition to a greener future via advancing sustainable urban transportation solutions. Skilled in developing mathematical models for both supply and demand of transport systems.
Job description
The post-doc will be the main researcher on the V2G-QUESTS project from the side of TU Delft. TU Delft is leading the project therefore communication with the different partners is very important. The main tasks that the post-doc needs to work on are: collecting stated choice data and estimating demand models that translate people's mode choice as well as their willingness to do charging and discharging operations in their daily mobility patterns. Such choice models should then be integrated into optimization methods, also developed by this post-doc, whose objective is to maximize sustainability, acting on prices as well as power and transport systems supply. Therefore the ideal person to take on this research work is one who understands both the modeling of travel behavior (choice modeling) and the mathematical optimization of transport systems. This work will be done in collaboration with TU Graz and The University of Edinburgh with experts on power grid optimization.
Requirements
You thrive on developing mathematical models that contribute significantly to the advancement of sustainable urban transportation and Electric mobility technologies. In your contacts with your colleagues and your project partners you put your communication skills to good use. And you enjoy mentoring and interacting with students, while growing your own skills and expertise.
You also have:
- A PhD in a relevant subject, such as transportation systems, civil engineering, operations research.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Advanced programming skills.
- A keen interest in interdisciplinary research.
- An excellent command of English, as you’ll be working in an internationally diverse community and with international partners.
Conditions of employment
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (based on scale 10: €3,226.00 - €5,090.00).
