PhD Position - System integration with demand side and industrial transformation - OrangeWind project

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft)

Posted on Friday, September 6, 2024

Functieomschrijving

Increased shares of renewable energy and changing energy demand will result in an increase integration of energy end-use and the electricity supply sector, which will pose challenges for grid stability and suply-demand matching. Sucessful integration is key to forging cost-efficient and reliable energy systems. To generate this understanding, this PhD will provide a systematic analysis of the impact of defosilizing heavy industry on demand patters, assess the level of flexibility of current and (new) industrial processes under different scenarios and identify optimal strategies to increase flexibility in industrial processes.
