FMO

FMO

Posted on Jan 14, 2025

Your role

Your role will be to work withing the team to convert user requirements into technical requirements, to validate the results of implementation and to communicate this with the stakeholder/requestor. As your product is SQL-base, your output will typically be SQL code for the ICT colleagues to implement.

Our current focus is changes relating to the Basel4 implementation where we must adjust the interface with new/changed datapoints and test the output in OneSumX.

Additionally, we are working on improving the interface (both technically and functionally) which provides the opportunity to get more involved in the content or functionality. The scope of these improvements will vary from analysis of Business rules to the technical improvement of the interface.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Support in converting user requirements to technical requirements
  2. Communicate openly with the stakeholders on progress
  3. Work on specific items (‘Stories’) per two-week Sprint
  4. Contribute to improvements within the team (both in terms of way of working and technical improvements)

The position is as a member of a Cross Functional (Scrum) Team, which comprises members from both the ICT and the Risk departments. The purpose of the team is to maintain/manage the interfacing of data from the central FMO Datawarehouse to the Regulatory Reporting tool (Wolters Kluwer OneSumX). The scope of the team includes month-end runs for Regulatory Reporting, modifications to the interface in response to changing regulations and supporting the end-users when required.

The successful candidate will be working for the Risk department to support in acting as a bridge between the Regulatory Reporting Team and the Cross Functional Team, helping to analyze requirements for changes, supporting the monthly reporting run, converting functional requirements into technical requirements and working closely with the team on improvements and automation.

The team

The team is a Scrum team of 6 people working in two-week sprints from a single backlog. Although our main purpose is to support Regulatory Reporting, we are also working on several technical and functional improvements to ‘future-proof’ our product. We observe all the Scrum rituals (Planning sessions, Daily & Retrospectives) and work very closely together. As a general way of working, the Risk members of the team analyze requirements and then collaborate with the ICT members to implement and test the changes.

We strive to reduce key-person risk and as such expect team members to regularly share knowledge with the rest of the team, work together and support each other.

Your background

  • Already residing in the Netherlands.
  • Currently enrolled at a Dutch university for a bachelor’s/master's degree. Preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Information Management, Economics, Data and Analytics.
  • Collaborative mindset; we expect that team members take ownership of their tasks, but collaborate closely with the rest of the team and our stakeholders to get them complete
  • Interest in banking regulations
  • Interest in reporting requirements and tooling
  • Good knowledge of excel
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of VB scripting or Python would be plus
  • Experience in SQL is a plus
  • Experience in MS Azure would be a plus

Please note, hybrid work arrangements are available, and all interns at FMO receive a monthly allowance.

Please note, if we make you an offer to join FMO, you will need to work through the screening process with our screening partner. The process is designed to check your integrity and reliability.
