Job Description
As a Vessel Manager you manage our geotechnical vessels assigned in accordance with terms & conditions of shipman agreement, class and flag state requirements, and in compliance with Fugro and Fleet Services standards and systems.
You are responsible for the management of the entire vessel crew including vessel management team, to ensure safe, reliable and efficient availability of fleet. In this varied role you represent Fugro on all matters in relation to the assigned vessel(s) or support service.
Your role
You ensure that the crew assigned to the vessel is relevant to the needs of the vessel and collaborate with the crewing department in regards;
You closely liaise with and challenge the vessel management team on board, support the departments to ensure safe, effective and efficient coordination, delegation, planning and execution of all tasks;
You supervise vessel performance in accordance with the Vessel and Fleet Management System and report, administer and control all responsibilities and tasks through the designated Computerised Management Systems (CMS);
You are responsible for the vessel in class and flag with good performance on availability, reliability, statistics on maintenance and materials as per management contract and for maximum operational time possible;
You have budget responsibility and prepare the annual operational vessel budget and the CAPEX budget;
You are member of the Emergency Response Team and initiate and follow up on Emergency Response Reports.
Your track record
You have a BSc. degree in a maritime related discipline and preferably previous experience in managing geotechnical vessels;
You have matured 3+ years maritime and previous management experience in the offshore industry and with Dynamic Positioning experience;
You are in the possession or willing to obtain BOSIET and HUET certificates;
You have excellent communication and reporting skills in English (verbal and written);
You are a motivator, who takes ownership and initiative, you are focused on business performance and strive for operational excellence;
You are available to travel for visits to ships and yards for audits when required.
