Gradyent is on a mission to help cities to decarbonise faster by digitising district heating systems with our digital twin: a SaaS platform that simulates and modulates the heating system of our clients. Backed by a group of top investors, we are scaling the platform globally.
\nWe currently have a team of 50+ people and offices in Rotterdam (the Netherlands), Germany and Hungary. Our team combines energy specialists, AI, developers, data scientists, commercial people, and top-tier consulting alums. We are expanding quickly and looking for a Application Engineer in the Netherlands to help us scale our SaaS platform across Europe.
\nWhat we do
\nWe offer a SaaS solution to create digital twins of heating systems. Our platform, powered by AI and analytics, optimises heating systems from heat sources to customers. We are transforming these grids by reducing CO2 and optimising its operations regarding temperatures, pressures, source dispatch and other metrics. These AI solutions minimise energy usage, CO2 emissions and operating costs while maintaining the proper end-user service levels.
\nWhat you will do
\nAs an Application Engineer, you will be part of our Application team, which is building our customer-facing product. As a key member of this team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our product for our customers. While our software engineers focus on enhancing the product’s core capabilities, the Application Engineer takes on the crucial responsibility of client onboarding and ensuring that our rapidly evolving application is released across our whole landscape.
\nThe role involves onboarding and enablement of our clients, configuring the product to suit customers' unique needs, troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and supporting smooth product releases to clients. This requires close collaboration with our product teams and our customer-facing team.
\nThe Application Engineer is the bridge between our cutting-edge product and our clients, ensuring that they experience the full potential and reliability of our product.
\nResponsibilities
\nAs an Application Engineer you will be responsible for:

- \nClient onboarding: Setting up dedicated environments for our new clients. Customizing the product to align with individual client configurations.\n \n
- \nTechnical troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to customer environments, client configurations or data connection questions.\n \n
- \nRelease management: Managing product releases, running test automation across the whole landscape, ensuring the product is fully up and running.\n \n
- \nCommunication: Closely communicating with both of our product teams and our customer-facing team, to facilitate effective collaboration.\n \n
- \nProcess improvement: Continuously improving the process by maintaining effective documentation and identifying areas for automation and improvement.\n \n
- \nProduct knowledge: Staying up to date with our product developments and latest features and enhancements to provide clients with the right support.\n \n
Requirements
\n- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-related field. \n
- Strong technical skills in software configuration, troubleshooting or deployments. \n
- Proactiveness and process improvement mindset to identify improvement areas in our onboarding and enablement processes. \n
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively understand and communicate with our customer-facing team. \n
- Problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly. \n
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate product configurations and troubleshooting. \n
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage projects in parallel and in a systematic manner. \n
- Understanding of technologies like AWS, Postman, DBeaver or database tools, Linux is an advantage. \n
- Working in a scaleup environment is an advantage. \n
