General
You will join a team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment. The school community is international, meaning both the educational programme and all business communication are conducted in English. Over the past 95 years, Hotelschool The Hague has built an excellent reputation through its innovative educational programme and the expertise of its staff, instructors, and lecturers.
At Hotelschool The Hague, students gain practical experience in our own facilities. Each campus has various restaurant concepts, a training hotel, and F&B outlets where students develop their hospitality management skills. As Instructor, you will play a vital role in guiding students through these practical learning experiences.
General Function Description
As an All-round Instructor, you will:
- Provide hands-on instruction in F&B service, including areas such as fine-dining service, bar and other Real life Learning outlets.
- Coach and supervise students during their practical education, guiding them to achieve excellence.
- Observe, support, and evaluate students’ performance in their roles.
- Teach workshops and other educational activities related to hospitality.
- Collaborate on the development and continuous improvement of the Practical Education programme.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the facilities, including administrative and management tasks.
Candidate Profile
You have/are:
- A Bachelor’s degree or MBO-4 level with professional and intellectual skills at Bachelor level.
- A minimum of 5 years’ work experience across various F&B fields, such as fine-dining restaurants, bars, and premium hospitality operations.
- Familiar with contemporary restaurant and hospitality concepts.
- A qualified coach with experience supervising junior staff or students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch proficiency is a plus.
- A team player who is flexible, committed, and trustworthy, yet able to work independently.
- A proactive problem solver with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including shifts and occasional weekends.
- An affinity for education and alignment with the vision, mission, and strategy of Hotelschool The Hague.

Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 8 of the labour agreement for Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO), with a range between €3,312.01 and €4,376.46 gross per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional Information
The starting date for this position is as soon as possible, depending on the notice period of the candidate. The role will be based at both our campuses. This is a full-time position for a fixed period of one year, with the possibility of contract extension.
