This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and coordinate the financial management of International Alert’s Global Peacebuilding Unit.

You will coordinate and ensure the accuracy of grant management, commercial contracting and donor reporting for the Unit’s projects, leading the production of regular internal reporting and financial monitoring and of external financial reports for donors and partners. You will undertake analysis of project finances to support the Director and Team Heads in financial decision-making and planning. You will also provide more limited administrative support to the Unit, supporting internal communication, knowledge management and planning, the management of external consultants and the operations of the Unit’s Teams.

We are seeking a professional, proactive and organised individual with strong financial management skills. You will have a proven ability to manage budgets, monitor project finances and undertake internal and external reporting, with experience of overseeing a portfolio of projects. You will have good knowledge of donor compliance requirements, ideally having overseen grant and commercial contracts. In return, you will have the opportunity to work for a dynamic, motivated and friendly team and the chance to contribute to the organisation’s mission, supporting people to build peace in countries affected by conflict.

Please note that the above are just some of the role requirements. For the full requirements, please click here to view the job description.

All applicants must have existing and permanent right to work in the country they wish to be based in.

International Alert prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer and particularly welcomes applications from underrepresented people including women, people from the Global South, BIPOC, LGBTIQ+ people, disabled people, and other historically marginalised people.

While International Alert will endeavour to contact all candidates within a reasonable time, this may not always be possible due to limited resources. Therefore, if you have not heard from us within two weeks of the closing date, you can assume your application has, on this occasion, been unsuccessful.
