About the Job
The Associate IB World Schools (IBWS) Manager plays a role in supporting the IBWS Managers and Senior Managers in ensuring schools implement and develop the principles of the IB Programmes according to requirements and regulations through the Evaluation process, and assists in schools further development utilizing the practices of an IB education. They support the IB school community by helping with the identification and sharing of best practices, as well as identifying areas of concern through their support of the evaluation process and evaluation follow-up.
The Associate IBWS Manager documents learnings from school-support initiatives and acts as an advocate for internal changes needed to better serve schools. The role focuses on promoting the increased depth and breadth of programme development. The Associate IBWS Manager may be called upon to supervise Lead Educators and to liaise with regional associations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that schools are well informed about the programme requirements and the evaluation process.
- Provide support for IBEN readiness for their assigned evaluation events.
- Liaise with School Delivery and IBEN to ensure events are staffed with appropriate IBEN; troubleshoot as necessary.
- Ensure schools’ fulfilment requirements of Preliminary Review in a timely manner and monitor quality control over Preliminary review phase.
- Respond to school queries and troubleshoot school issues during the evaluation process and ensure that response time to requests for information and advice is timely.
- Liaise with Lead Educators to ensure guidelines for report writing and quality assurance are followed.
- Monitor the progress of all elements of reporting to ensure that reports are completed and returned to schools in a timely manner.
- Ensure that reports provide quality feedback to school leaders and contain accurate information.
- Ensure that Educators and Lead Educators have updated training resources.
- Monitor and support Evaluation Follow Up Visits, Return Visits and Unannounced Exam Visits.
- Works with Senior Managers to assist schools in identifying resources to further development their programmes utilizing the practices of an IB education.
- Support for IBWS Managers and Sr. Manager: assist with IB Answers queries and presentations in the IB programme that is within the Associate Manager's area of expertise.
About You
- University degree
- Minimum 2 years' experience in education, preferably in an IB World School
- Knowledge of at least one IB programme preferred; knowledge of multiple programmes an advantage
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills in at least one IB language, and fluency in a second IB language (Spanish/French) is preferred
- Adaptable and flexible so as to work collaboratively on multifunctional and multicultural teams
- Understanding of and commitment to the IB Mission
- Organizational, planning and negotiation skills, including ability to handle priorities and meet deadlines
