About the job:

Based in The Hague, Netherlands, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join the Service Support and Business Applications Service Line (SSBA), which is responsible for planning and carry out all the tasks related to managing logistics and business application services throughout their entire lifecycle, across internal and external NATO customers.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer (Business Intelligence) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

Methods and tools
• Provides advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools and adherence to policies and standards.
• Tailors processes in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools.
Software design
• Participate in the design of complex software applications, components and modules.
• Uses appropriate modelling techniques following agreed software design standards, guidelines, patterns and methodology.
Programming/software development
• Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors complex programs/scripts and integration software services.
• Contributes to the selection of the software development methods, tools and techniques.
Power BI Integration:
• Proficiently manage Power BI Report Server and Power BI Desktop proficient, including setup, configuration and optimization;
• Write SQL and integrate various data sources in Power BI;
• Develop and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI;
Oracle Expertise:
• Identify data objects from OBIA data warehouses and data marts;
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes;

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
• A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience;
• Data Modelling and Design: Proficient in designing normalized and de-normalized data models, star/snowflake schemas;
• In depth knowledge and extensive experience with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and dashboard design;
• Proven experience as an Oracle BI Consultant;
• In-depth understanding of OBIA architecture, components, functionalities and Oracle Data base security;
• Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Proficiency and strong hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator for designing and implementing ETL processes;
• Knowledge and experience analysing complex data sets;
• Strong understanding of Power BI and DWH architecture, components, functionalities and Oracle and Microsoft Data base security;
• Experience with ODAC;
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
