NIBC Bank is looking for a Credit Risk Modeller in our Modeling & Data Analytics team!

Job Description:

As our Credit Risk Modeller, you will be working in a role that gives you exposure to various internal and external stakeholders where you will get as much responsibility as you can handle. What will you do?

Model development and maintenance

  • Find creative solutions for highly low-default non-retail portfolios which are primarily based on qualitative rigor and understanding of the business

  • Participate in the re-development and improvement of business-critical risk models

  • Have a key role in risk data analysis and methodology updates in response to strategic portfolio developments and changes in regulations

  • Perform regular model monitoring

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the lending process

Communication

  • Be part of the internal Methodology Advisory Group which is responsible for advising the Risk Management Committee on methodological developments

  • Be a knowledgeable sparring partner for other teams with regards to credit risk modelling;

  • Facilitate ongoing liaison with Portfolio Management, Finance, IT and other credit risk modelers

Boundary spanning

  • Have opportunities to take part in bank-wide projects that span over several knowledge domains and require effective communication at all organizational levels

  • Help steer NIBC in the challenging and dynamic regulatory environment

Your team

MDA provides an open, positive and challenging environment via a broad range of activities and projects. The team is responsible for the A-IRB and IFRS9 credit risk models, bank-wide stress testing, counterparty credit risk modeling (incl. EE, PFE and CVA/DVA) and has a leading role in the ongoing bank-wide transformational change programs. Within our diverse team, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact by playing a pivotal role in the maintenance and the further development of the A-IRB and IFRS9 model frameworks for specialized lending. You will have the opportunity to broaden your model development skills and closely collaborate with our commercial teams, other risk teams, Finance and IT.

What do you bring?

  • You are a self-starter and a big picture thinker with attention to detail

  • Have at least 3 years of credit risk modelling experience (A-IRB or IFRS9) preferably for specialized lending

  • Enjoy programming and have good Python and SQL programming skills

  • Have experience risk/regulatory projects

  • Have good communication skills (English)

  • Would enjoy challenges in a dynamic work environment.
