Job Description:

As our Senior Business Analyst, you are responsible for analyzing the finance domain (Business & IT) and optimizing business performance though technology application and innovation to gain value. You will deliver sustainable IT solutions and will be maximizing the value together with the finance IT delivery teams. In your role as Senior Business Analyst you have the helicopter view across the entire value chain, you keep the oversight and mentor the team with you knowledge and experience.

We are looking for a professional able to navigate complexity and passionate to construct, change and drive implementation of new requirements while looking at opportunities to streamline existing business processes. Your focus area will be IT Finance Reporting with BASEL IV as a bank-wide top priority.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis topics within your team showing the ability to look at the whole value chain, identify dependencies and act as a linking pin with all stakeholders to solve them
  • Investigate and document the (desired) business situation by applying qualitative and quantitative techniques such as workshops, interviews, scenario’s, prototyping, surveys, document analysis, etc.
  • Identify, evaluate options and make recommendation (including business case and scenarios analysis) for improving the business processes and IT (Information Technology) systems by taking a holistic approach in line with the IT strategy and architecture
  • Design and lead implementation of future proof solutions that meet regulatory requirements and are in line with target architecture
  • Coordinate test strategy for the implementation of big changes and initiatives
  • Act as a sparring partner to your product owner contributing with your knowledge and expertise to planning and roadmap
  • Act as liaison with Business stakeholders in refining the business requirements into application requirements (user story management).
  • Mentor your fellow business analyst and help them growing in their craftmanship
  • Contribute to the development of the business domain’s strategy and business plan
  • Actively build on- and contribute to the Business Analysis CoE (Center of Expertise).

Your challenge

You will work in an ever-changing environment with a very ambitious roadmap.

The challenge is to find the right balance (or even identify opportunities) between regulatory changes and improvements in the process & systems for the entire Finance value chain.

For change there is an ambitious roadmap for the coming years, including amongst others the following challenges:

  • Maximizing the value delivered by the team by ensuring that the team backlog is aligned with customer & stakeholder needs.
  • Migration and Automation of the regulatory reports to a SAAS environment in close collaboration with our Data and Analytics department
  • Implementation of Basel IV regulations across the value chain
  • Continuously improving the finance reporting processes by implementing best practices in close collaboration with the Business owner and business users
  • Further rationalize the on-premises environment

Your team

You will be working in the Regulatory Reporting IT delivery team which is part of the Finance & Risk IT domain. Regulatory Reporting IT team is responsible for managing the IT landscape for our regulatory reporting business value stream and to support our colleagues in Finance to submit reports to regulators, bound to critical deadlines. You will report to the domain IT manager for the Finance & Risk IT team.

What do you bring?

Our ideal Senior Business Analyst, has the following profile:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or comparably relevant working experience
  • Financial background in the area of Regulatory Reporting with affinity with Credit Risk is a pre
  • Experience in IT in a role responsible for run and change with proficiency with SQL and Excel is a pre
  • Knowledge of IT related banking regulations and relevant IT standards and best practices is a pre
  • You have strong persuasive powers, know how to challenge (business) stakeholders on subject matters, and you are able to manage expectations.
  • High level of initiative, ownership and self-motivation, with the ability work in a team environment
  • Great communication skills; fluent in English written and verbal. Profiency in Dutch is an advantage
  • Experienced in working in an Agile way of working environment, working with tools such as JIRA.
  • Always striving for ways to improve the processes.
