Job Description:
What will you do?
As our Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization against cyber threats. You will work closely with our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) to manage and mitigate security incidents. Your core activities will be:
- Handling security incidents received from the SOC.
- Assist in addressing security related questions from within the organization.
- Creating and maintaining pentesting planning and assisting in its execution.
- Assign and monitor the follow-up on identified vulnerabilities with internal stakeholders.
- Assist in the creation and updating of security standards and procedures to comply with internal and external regulations.
Your team
You will be joining the Risk & Security (R&S) team which is part of the engaging Identity, Risk & Security, Quality management (IRSQ) team. Your day-to-day work takes place within R&S together with your six colleagues - 3 IT risk officers, 2 security officers and you, our new security officer. As a team, we aim to be the security conscious of NIBC. Sounds super serious? It is – but we do so together in an informal and open manner. We all have our own responsibilities and, at the same time, know where to find each other for help and advice when needed. The team is part of the staff of the CTO domain (Information Technology, Data Management and Operations) and directly reports to our CTO.

What do you bring?
You are a proactive and results-driven cybersecurity professional who excels at engaging stakeholders within the organization to take necessary steps to further enhance our security posture. Some keywords to describe you: strong analytical skills, fast learner, and an effective communicator:
- Experience with tools and technologies such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and basic knowledge of network protocols and firewall management.
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on the latest developments and threats in the cybersecurity world.
- Having relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build good relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- With a proactive attitude; involve the right people and know how to proactively follow up on issues;
- Fluent in English, where Dutch is a benefit.
