Approximately 15 entities are established in the Netherlands, mainly related to exploration, holding and financing. The Netherlands office consists of an international, young and enthusiastic team. Frequent relations are maintained with colleagues in the exploration countries and Head Offices in Spain.
Currently we have a vacancy for the position of Senior Accountant:
The senior accountant will be responsible for accounting and reporting of a number of exploration and holding entities, reporting to the manager of accounting and reporting, as part of a team of four accountants.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
Responsibility and accountability for accounting of assigned entities
Monthly closing and reporting
Analysis of results
Preparation of additional reporting
Performance of account reconciliations
Establishment of improvements in quality of reporting
Establishment of improvements in procedures and controls
Preparation of financial statements
Management of external audits for some of these financial statements
Assistance in preparation of tax returns
Monitoring of branch activities
Qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Minimum bachelor degree in accounting/business
Around 5 years of experience in accounting and/or auditing
Knowledge of IFRS and Dutch GAAP
Experience with monthly closing process and/or external audits
Experience with SAP
Profound experience with Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written) in English. Knowledge of Spanish is an advantage.
