The role:

The Quality Engineer takes responsibility that the purchased goods and services in the purchase orders will be available to SAS-Hytop according the agreed upon specifications and conditions (product, quality and conditions).

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out product inspections on components and systems. Inspections are carried out either internally or on location at the supplier’s premises.
You will come from a technical or engineering background, and have the ability to handle day-to-day issues regarding product or process quality. Deviations are registered in NCR reports, actions are then set and subsequently followed up. Reporting to the Group Leader (SCM/QC) you will cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to prevent any quality and safety issues.

In addition, you will contribute to the further professionalisation of the QC department, and provide fresh ideas about how to optimise its activities.


You will be responsible for:

Executing incoming goods, product, (work)process and/or supplier quality controlling activities and quality related projects, administration, audits and answering quality related questions, as well as execution of inspection and test plans, in line with IHC policy, procedures and guidelines, and quality standards, specifications and regulations such as ISO, in order to ensure production, maintenance and service compliance with quality policy, standards and customer expectations.

Job requirements:

  • Higher vocational education (for example in mechanical engineering, controls or hydraulics).
  • Good knowledge of material properties and applications (weldability, workability, heat and surface treatments).
  • Familiar with the process and work sequence for manufacturing, installing and commissioning Offshore mission equipment.
  • Familiar with the function, operation and customer use of the Offshore mission equipment portfolio.
  • Able to read, interpret and understand mechanical/hydraulic/electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and the ERP and PDM systems.
  • Familiar with the use of measuring tools (tolerances, alignment, adjustment).
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Good knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
  • Experience in working with inspection agencies, amongst others Lloyds and DNV.
  • Knowledge of reporting and archiving techniques.
