Royal IHC is currently recruiting a Site Manager for our headquarters in Kinderdijk.

As a Site Manager you are responsible for IHC activities on an external yard. You will be responsible for all yard assistance on production operations on site, and point of contact for all production assistance related matters. You focus on safety, quality and on time delivery of our projects. Depending on the activities in hand you will manage a multinational and multiskilled Site team. Besides guiding daily operations on the yard, your objective is the improvement of the cooperation with the yard in terms of safety, quality and planning.

Your key responsibilities as Site Manager:

You will become a member of the International Production department and report to the Manager International Production. You will be assigned to running projects on which you will report to the Project Manager. In this position your responsibilities are, amongst others: review all related processes and procedures including developing the inspection and test plan, quality assurance plan change and rectification procedures, etc. In addition also document control for documents from/to engineering of the yard; handling technical questions from the yard, liaison with the internal organization on behalf of the yard; monitoring quality of vessel; weekly progress reporting; coordinate planning cooperation between Project Planner and yard planner on several levels of detail; follow up on planning; supervise physical supply chain on the yard; report bottlenecks and take appropriate actions; safety Health and Environment - weekly safety rounds and reporting; coordination of ICT support from the IHC organization; arrange good office and social circumstances for the Site team (if applicable), other IHC-colleagues and subcontractors on location; cooperate with the yard on improvement activities; develop a suitable organization, supporting several projects that are simultaneous in hand of the yard; implement strategic policy into operational plans, budget and investments; give feedback on the strategic roadmap of the organization.

To be successful in this position you:

  • Have broad experience (at least 5 years) in both engineering and production departments of shipbuilding industry.
  • Have a bachelor degree in Shipbuilding or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Are a result-oriented people-manager.
  • Are a selfstarter
  • Have a flexible style: you are willing to perform hands on inspections and also handle managerial tasks.
  • Have influencing skills.
  • Are a Teamplayer.

Selection process:

After your application, there will first be a short phone call with the Corporate Recruiter. Subsequently, the selection procedure consists of two rounds of interviews. The first interview will be with the manager and a direct colleague. During the second interview, a manager from a different department and someone from HR will join.
