Your job

Royal IHC is looking for an Engineer Dredging Equipment.

Are you a mechanical engineer and would you like to work on designing and engineering complex dredging equipment? Do you want to have the opportunity to see your designed products in real life? Are you pragmatic, driven and willing to do everything in your power to get the job done? Then we would like to get in touch!

As an engineer of dredging equipment, you will spend most of your time designing and engineering IHC products according to specifications from our (internal) customers. It is your job to deliver technical specifications on time and within budget. You will be working on multiple projects at once. The duration of a project is usually between a month and half a year.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design and engineering of dredge equipment with 3D engineering software (Solid Edge or NX).
  • Manage engineering data in PDM software (Teamcenter).
  • Work according to schedules and report on progress.
  • Perform calculations to verify your designs.
  • Closely cooperate with other disciplines as structural engineering, product specialists, supply chain and production to optimize designs and production processes.
  • Interact with production team and project management to ensure efficient production processes, quality, safety, sustainability of IHC products and equipment.

The engineering team consists of a fine mix of young professionals and colleagues with lots of experience. The team members describe the nice balance between a result focus and space for a joke as a big plus. A fun part of joining this team is that most team members started their career at IHC. You will get the right guidance and your colleagues will help you. Next to that you will get the opportunity to follow courses like our in-house developed IHC dredging course, to enrich your knowledge and skills.

From our new colleague we expect:

  • A BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, or comparable. Personality tells us more than educational level. We will adjust responsibilities when applicable.
  • That he/she comes up with new ideas and process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and preferably Dutch, both verbal and written.
  • Pragmatic and driven personality and a team player.

Please note that only candidates with valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates.

* These requirements give a direction to the profile we are looking. Research shows that male candidates apply if there is a 60% match and women only when there is a 100% match. Do you not meet all the requirements but do you think that this is the position for you? Then we would like to invite you to apply.

What we offer:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3.152 and €4.736 + 8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week). € 0,21 per kilometer commuting allowance.
  • A profit-sharing scheme.
  • Good work/life balance with 40 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave.
  • The possibility to work from home with associated expense allowance and/or to perform the work on the basis of flexible working hours (depending on the position).
  • An average salary pension scheme in which matters are properly arranged in the event of accidental death, incapacity for work or unemployment.
  • Good disability insurance.
  • Participation (on a voluntary basis) in the Social Fund, on the basis of which care and related costs are reimbursed that are not covered by your health insurance.
  • Discount on VGZ's additional healthcare insurance
  • A training budget of €1,500 every three years.
  • Unlimited sporting in our own fitness room.
