Senior Engineer - Control and Automation

As a senior control and automation engineer, you will work in the automation and control of dredgers and related equipment. You will be responsible for designing, coding and testing control and automation software for monitoring, processing, measuring and controlling systems for dredging components.

The control and automation engineer will work as part of a project team and be joined by the Project Manager and the Lead Engineer. Your role will also include designing and configuring user interfaces relating to the dredging process using SCADA packages. In addition, it will involve drawing up functional specifications and writing software for SCADA with PLC and other systems. You will also set up the overall system configuration and testing of applications using a simulator.

To be eligible for the role of senior control and automation engineer, you must have the following:

  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience an ability to think and work at a higher professional (HBO / Bachelor or University / Master) level.
  • demonstrable experience with and/or affinity for measuring and control technology, and process automation
  • knowledge of and experience with designing, programming and coding Allen-Bradley PLC’s and knowledge of CIMPLICITY SCADA systems or at least two of more equivalents.
  • familiar with virtual environments like VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • experienced in configuration different type of networks
  • writing skills of technical design specifications
  • knowledge of project data management systems
  • the ability to read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.
  • working in project teams is common for you.
  • excellent communication skills
  • analytical ability and can show initiative
  • fluently speak and excellent reading and writing in English and in Dutch
  • only candidates with EU work visa (residents) will be considered as viable candidates.
