IHC Training Institute

The IHC Training Institute provides high quality training in dredging and mining to our internal and external clients. Tis concerns different kinds of training, such as Technical, Simulator, Theory, and On the Job training or a mixture of the earlier mentioned. We believe blended learning is the most effective and therefore use case studies and/or practicums for any of our trainings. The Training Institute is located at the shipyard in Kinderdijk with two classrooms, four simulators of which two can be transported all over the world. Training is provided worldwide; conferences, the client’s preferred location or on board the dredgers.

Your Job

Training can be sold as part of a new built vessel or directly to a dredging / mining company or a company related to the industry, such as port authorities, crewing agents, associations etc. As each training is customised to the needs of our clients, you will take part in sales meetings with clients for intakes or the assess the actual need for training. Based on this, you will create a training curriculum that fits the clients needs. Creating content to improve and develop new trainings is a big part of your job. It is very important to closely monitor relevant and current developments in the dredging sector. The trainer has an important ambassadorial role for our organization. Furthermore, your responsibilities include:

• cooperation with internal and external stakeholders

• evaluate customer training need analysis, as well as creating and executing learning strategies

• manage, prepare and execute all activities in line with safety rules and regulations, including addressing anomalies to others as well as create and maintain safe working conditions

• carrying out theoretical training/masterclasses in the classroom or digital studio

• provide training on dredging simulators

• execute practical training abroad, on board or at our shipyard

• review and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and improve their quality and execution

• ensure the continuous development of training content and training delivery methods

• during the project execution phase you will ensure quality (on specification), on budget and in time delivery

• identify the training need of a customer and create a customized training program for them

In this role you will report to the Manager IHC Training Institute.

Your profile

In order to qualify for the vacancy of Trainer IHC Training Institute, you have the following profile:

• a Higher National Diploma or Higher National Certificate degree

• extensive experience in the dredging field

• the ambition to achieve a teaching qualification

• excellent communication skills, both spoken and written in English

• experience in Microsoft Office applications

• a friendly, welcoming and approachable attitude

• you have hands-on, problem solving skills and can work independently

• you are aware of cultural differences and are able to handle these respectfully

• you are able and willing to work in Kinderdijk (Rotterdam area) in The Netherlands and travel abroad on occasion
