Royal IHC is looking for an experienced Manager Engineering that can create and maintain a working environment in which multidisciplinary project teams flourish. In your role you get energized from coaching team members, act as a role model, take car of operational management and achieving successes together. We are looking for a colleague who is proactive and who can easily prioritize between pending activities.
In your role you will be responsible for:
- The supervision of all engineering related activities in the projects.
- Demarcation of activities and improving cooperation with all relevant PMG’s and/or FD’s.
- Being the linking pin between PMG’s and FD’s.
- Working in close cooperation with the overall Project Management team and assisting if and where needed.
- Supporting/coaching your group of Team Leaders Engineering, including daily management activities like performance management, professional development and other activities.
- Professional development of your team members, assessing and improving the engineering competences.
- Dividing resources over the projects, together with the other managers Engineering.
- Improve standardization in project execution, including reporting, taking into account different types of (engineering) projects, with room for individual interpretation.
- Budgeting (hours + lead times) potential (engineering) project together with other team members of the management team.
- Supporting the Engineering MT with external engineering sales activities.
- Contributing to our social media visibility.
To be eligible for the role of Engineering Manager, we are looking for the following requirements:
- At least higher vocational education level (HBO) in a shipbuilding, mechanical discipline (or other relevant field).
- At least five years of experience in leading a team.
- Knowledge of shipbuilding and/or mechanical engineering processes in a project-based work environment.
- Courageous communicator – the ability to work efficiently and smoothly in a complex, international environment.
- Excellent communication skills and fluent in English (verbal and written).
- A broad interest in the shipbuilding, dredging, offshore and maritime equipment industry.

A gross monthly salary between €5700,- and €8110,- +8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).

About the department:
The Functional Discipline (FD) Engineering is the company knowledge center for the engineering of IHC’s products and is supporting the Product Market Groups (PMG’s) with specific engineering knowledge and resources. The department currently exists of around 225 employees and growing.
