We are looking for a skilled individual to join our team. As a Transformer System Engineer, you will have projects on different types of transformers. From the specification of transformers to overseeing FAT and supporting installation and commissioning activities. You are detail orientated, have great communication skills and love to solve problems.

You will work together with a team of engineers. The short delivery times and high demands from our customers are a guaranty for a dynamic project environment and execution. Part of the daily tasks will be your involvement in the project from concept to delivery, keeping in touch with our customers and E-house manufacturer locations. Site and factory visits will be part of your job and therefore travel will be required, for short periods, on a regular basis.
A typical day looks like:
For us every day can be a surprising day with unexpected questions and tasks but this not always the case luckily there are also plenty days were you can focus on the ongoing tasks. In the morning you can review project requirements for transformers, coordinate with clients and teams to ensure smooth execution, and prepare technical submittals. Collaborate with the procurement team to select suppliers and support their integration into the supply chain. Attend factory tests with customers to ensure compliance with specifications.
The next day you resolve technical issues. Provide support during installation and commissioning activities and collaborate with the quality team to address any issues. Additionally, provide technical support to the sales team by aligning transformer specifications with customer needs. Throughout the day, communication and collaboration with various teams are essential to ensure project success and maintain quality standards.
What do your activities consist of in this position?
  • Specify transformers according to project requirements, with expertise in both oil and dry type distribution and insulation transformers.
  • Coordinate with clients and project teams to align interfaces and ensure smooth project execution. Conduct technical design checks and address any issues that arise. Prepare technical specifications for transformers, ensuring alignment with project needs and industry standards.
  • Prepare technical submittals for customers, providing comprehensive documentation of proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to select internal suppliers for transformers, ensuring alignment with project requirements and quality standards. Also collaborate with the quality team to address any quality problems related to transformers, ensuring adherence to standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Support new supplier implementation, including conducting audits, providing training, and facilitating smooth integration into the supply chain. Also Support the site teams during installation.
  • Attend FAT and FWT with customers at transformer supplier facilities, ensuring compliance with specifications and addressing any concerns.
  • Manage factory production, organize tests, and inspections. Handle orders and assess commercial implications for additional work. Maintain records of production progress and resolve any technical issues.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during the sales phase, aligning transformer features and specifications with customer requirements.
What do you need to be considered for this position?
  • Completed bachelor in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, with expertise in oil and dry type distribution and insulation transformers.
  • Experience in dimensioning and performing factory acceptance tests of transformers.
  • Experience in preparing technical specifications and submittals for transformers.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 60076, IEC 60721, and ISO 9001.
  • Flexible, practical, and result-oriented work attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch is preferable.
  • Residing within a 45km radius of The Hague.
  • Availability for a 40-hour workweek, with flexibility as needed.
The team
Arie who fits his relatively young team, which is a nice mix of men, women, nationalities and cultures. A close-knit team, where cooperation, respect and humour are key. The MV team consists of about 12 engineers with different technical backgrounds. The working language is alternately English and Dutch.
