The Role

Are you eager to take the lead in renewable energy design? At SolarDuck, we’re looking for a Senior CAD Engineer who’s passionate about driving the future of offshore solar energy. As our Senior CAD Engineer, you’ll play a key part in carrying out the implementation of innovative project designs. To maintain the greatest level of excellence in CAD designs, it will be your responsibility to examine and refine the drawings created by our CAD designers, aligning all components before the production stage involves lining up interfaces, validating BOM quantities, and collaborating effectively across functional boundaries. To promote a proactive and well-coordinated approach to project implementation, your role involves providing thorough technical assistance and hands-on support during project builds. You’ll also create and manage established operating procedures, CAD libraries, and templates in addition to managing project resources to guarantee productivity and financial compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the setup and administration of the CAD and PDM systems;
  • Develop drawing templates and uphold drawing standards for precision.
  • Managing and updating the master 3D model to guarantee accurate interfaces among detailed parts;
  • Taking charge of scrutinizing drawings generated by the assigned CAD Designers, with a comprehensive focus on the quality of both drawings and machine CAD design. This involves verifying correct interfaces and ensuring completeness and accuracy of BOM quantities;
  • Coordinating the CAD Designers assigned to the project to ensure timely release of planned drawings and BOM items. Additionally, updating associated tracking/planners to maintain on-time delivery across departments;
  • Monitoring CAD Design hours dedicated to the project, providing estimates to complete, and striving to keep the project within the allocated budget;
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to optimize design.
  • Utilize your 2D & 3D CAD skills (Solidworks, 3DExperience, Autocad) to bring concepts to life.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects remain within scope, schedule, and budget, collaborating with staff in various departments;
  • Developing and maintaining standardized drawing templates for various project requirements;
  • Establishing and enforcing drawing standards to guarantee uniformity and compliance with industry norms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field;
  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience as a CAD Engineer;
  • Proficient in both 2D and 3D CAD design, with expertise in Solidworks, 3DExperience, and AutoCAD;
  • Proficient in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Knowledge in aluminum is highly valued;
  • An attitude that embraces teamwork, recognizing the success of the team as a whole.
