JOB PURPOSE

The role will lead our overall approach to regenerating agriculture and will work to deliver in line with the Bases of Preparation as well as on broader division agenda’s and programs. Regenerative Agriculture champion and development/design of impact programs across divisions and in portfolios. Regenerative Agriculture development and landscape approaches to regenerate 1.5 million hectares. Landing group wide contracts in support of our protect and restore nature commitments. Working within and on the governance of the climate and nature fund. Frameworks, systems, and process set up for programs. Consistent methodology for baseline and impact metrics and applying best practice or standards as may be required for claims. Capability building for metrics reporting. Identifying and managing partnerships for regenerating nature and agriculture, including partner capability assessment and development. Participating and representing Unilever in industry forums on regenerative and landscape approaches. Supporting portfolio sustainability teams and procurement teams in driving the impact programs.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

  • Suso Portfolio Teams : To co-design and deliver impact programs at scale.

  • Suppliers and Implementation Partners : Design and implement programs covering sustainability, supply integration, protection and restoration, regenerative agriculture and livelihoods improvement.

  • Procurement Teams: Leverage the relationship design and contracts with the suppliers via procurement teams in pursuit of sustainability metrics and impact.

  • NGOs & Technical Organisations to implement consistent approaches, technology and data standards to enable impact & assurance

  • Brand and Divisions Teams: To drive stories and claims to consumers.

  • Suso Digital peers & UniOps : Identify and integrate new systems and technologies

  • SEAC: Develop and align on evidence and impact measurement methods;

  • Funds to: Ensure our investments enable brand & corporate claims

SKILLS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate/influence colleagues and in the process holding oneself as well as others accountable for reaching ambitiously set targets Proven and recognized achievements in sustainable sourcing, supplier development and relationship management.

  • Strong stakeholder management & communication

  • Agriculture Program design experience

  • Project & change management

  • Experience in dealing with environmental and social non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

  • Experience in commodity standards, certification, and roundtables.

EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE/THE QUALITIES WE LOOK FOR

  • 5-10 + years professional experience related to the fields of sustainability, agriculture, agroecology and agronomics implementation and or research, environmental and social / rural community development work.

  • Experience in dealing with environmental and social non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

  • Experience in commodity standards, certification, and roundtables.
