The United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY Peacebuilders) is a global network of over 100 youth organisations in 69 countries, active in the field of peacebuilding and conflict transformation. UNOY was established in 1989 and its base lies in The Hague, The Netherlands. The UNOY network contributes to the work of its members and affiliates in two fundamental ways, namely capacity building and advocacy and campaigning. Our goal is to create a world where young people have the opportunity and skills to contribute to peace. We work to strengthen youth-led peacebuilding initiatives, facilitate a safe space for dialogue and conflict transformation, develop the organizational capacities of our members and to bring the voices of young people to policy makers on a regional and global level. In order to build capacities of youth, UNOY implements a wide range of activities including training courses, workshops, conferences, lectures, summer schools, and study sessions. In addition, UNOY has published several tool kits available on our website. UNOY also advocates for youth at various institutional levels, including the UN, where one of the long term goals of our advocacy work was achieved in 2015 with the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution 2250 on youth, peace and security.
