The Product Owner is a member of an Agile Team that represents the voice of the customer and is responsible for working with the Product Manager and other stakeholders – including other Product Owners and the team – to define, prioritize and manage the product backlog so that the solution effectively addresses customer and business needs while maintaining technical integrity. Our business unit has a product vision, strategy and a 3-year roadmap. The success of the roadmap, strategy is based on multiple product initiatives being successful. This role is going to play a key role in ensuring this success. The Product Owner is an important role at Wolters Kluwer and is responsible for responsibility and decision-making in the development of products. He or she will understand the customers and potential customers, as well as the wider industry.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Owning 1-3-month roadmap across Kluwer Law International’s product portfolio including discovery, design and delivery by working with right team members and stakeholders

  • Participate in Agile/ SAFE cadence to progress towards business /PI objectives laid out as per product vision and roadmap

    • Participate in mission and PI briefings as part of SAFE agile planning and pick up requirements for the team

    • Participate in PI planning, sprint planning, team ceremonies

    • Lead PI/Sprint demos of new product development towards internal stakeholders

    • Lead Week start meetings to get initiatives ready for delivery and PIs

    • Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, addressing queries and providing updates on product development progress

  • Backlog prioritization & management

    • Communicate the product vision, roadmap, and PI goals to stakeholders and team members

    • Review and improve the process of backlog management across product portfolio

    • Gather and prioritize product requirements based on customer, stakeholder feedback, data and market research

    • Write user stories and bring them to be ready for PI planning

    • Make user stories ready for sprint planning

    • Prioritize team backlog

    • Continuously evaluate product performance and implement improvements

  • Manage product roadmap schedules and product delivery independently

    • Provide insights and documentation of project requirements and scopes

    • Oversee and report on roadmap progress and performance metrics

    • Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks as needed.

    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery

  • Ensuring user value

    • Do business acceptance on user story level

    • Help with user validation of features

    • Help with data driven decisions: support with data analytics on features and customers related to usage of our product and its features to inform the future product roadmap

  • Keeping the lights on: Support with issues and bugs management as part of the backlog management across our product portfolio

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager) are a plus

  • Continuous learning in product management methodologies and industry trends

  • At least 2-5 years of experience as Agile product owner

  • A proven track record of successful product ownership of software or wed product portfolio including managing large, complex initiatives to transform ways of working and tech platform in a high-tech development environment with multi-functional teams following SAFe/Scrum methodologies

  • Proven experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with development teams

  • Demonstrated success in defining and delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs

  • Experience in market research, user testing, and gathering customer feedback
